Our memory fails us more often than not. That’s why we photograph. Images provide us with visual evidence of the past. Yet to picture is not necessarily to remember. By reconsulting a family archive of photographs and film, Elizabeth and Laetitia Geerts question the meaning of memories. Their work '1438. This is what you leave me with.' points out the discrepancy between what is pictured, what is remembered and what one wants to remember.

Elizabeth Geerts is a photographer and Laetitia Geerts is a graphic designer, who together make up a collaborative artist duo based in Antwerp, Belgium.
