Hilde Braet
An image from the series ‘Exodus: Charlotte – Esra’, about refugees. Two storylines differentiating in time and space, have much in common. They are narratives about the destructive force of being permanently on the run, about continuous imputation in the homeland but also in the host land, However, they are also stories about benevolent individuals who make the difference, individuals but not the entire society.
Hilde Braet is a therapeutical photographer based in Ghent, Belgium.
She is coaching different photo projects which stimulate emancipatory processes, empowerment and well-being. Het project “Embodied Otherness’ explores the intersection of disability, woman and sexuality.
