After photographing, Louise cuts out the essence of her images. This generates a play of approaching, touching, suggesting and confusing. This image is taken during the first weeks after the birth of her son. It is filled with tenderness and fragility. The photograph is part of a search for the fragility of intimacy and relationships. It is also a wish for softness, especially for those who are living in a terrible reality.

Louise Degraeve is a photographer and graphic designer based in Ghent, Belgium.
