This picture is part of a series named Swan Songs. This analog picture is a symbol of this body of work, even if I met those birds by chance. I often photograph animals, mostly cats, dogs, horses and birds, I use them as a metaphor of human emotions. Those siamese swans have an astonishing similar form, they face together the amount of darkness that surrounds them. As often in my work, I want light to win, symbolised here by the whiteness of the birds.

Marie Sordat is a fine-art photographer based in Brussels, Belgium.
