Sarah Van Marcke
The work ‘Goeppertia Zebrina’ shows the roots of one of my house plants. The territory of this plant is delimited by the flowerpot and possible underground communication with the rest of its community is restricted. The plants become individuals.
This work refers to the origin and history of most of our houseplants, once taken and brought to the Western world, they reveal a history of colonialism and anthropocentrism.
