In this photograph from my recent project "I Built a Wall," I explore how everyday materials can take on deeper symbolic meaning. By presenting common objects outside of their usual context and functionality, I aim to provoke thoughtful reflection on the intersection between the natural and cultural worlds.
Serena Vittorini is a visual artist, based in Brussels, Belgium.
Her early work analysed relationships between human presence, collective and individual memory in urban spaces. Over time, her interest shifted to identity and memory, blurring lines between intimate, public, real and fictional. This evolution led her to explore themes of identity, childhood and family through her experiences. Her current research practice integrates photography, installation, audio and video to enable multi-layered interpretation.
