‘Donia and siblings at home.’ This image was taken shortly after the Arabic Spring Revolution in Caïro, Egypt. A period of hope, change and rebellion against the region's entrenched authoritarian regimes. The young generation’s wish was to gain increased democracy and cultural freedom.

Zaza Bertrand is a photographer based in Ghent, Belgium.

She studied at KASK and has a great love for documenting life which motivated her to travel and make autonomous projects in the past. Nowadays she has her own family and other ongoing projects, but still works as a freelance photographer.
