Anja Hellebaut

Anja Hellebaut is a photographer, curator and co-founder of mentormentor, based in Ghent, Belgium.

She is a maker, curator and mentor to other photographers.  In personal trajectories she provides professional support combined with her distinguishing critical gaze. 

In her photographic work, Anja Hellebaut investigates the urbanized landscape characterized by traces of unintended use and often conflicting functions. These form the basis for highly graphic compositions containing the place and function in the world, of both the architect, the urbanist and the user. The photographs transcend the anecdotal and sometimes yield unexpected urban planning syntheses.
