Carmen De Vos

Carmen De Vos is an independent art photographer based in Ghent, Belgium.

As a slow photographer, she registers, portrays and thinks up odd stories. She shoots Polaroids to frame these mental escapades, they get so easily out of hand. Carmen has been slaving for the Belgian press since 2008.


Pipi Langoureuse has been living in my mad land of no rules since 2012. Before that, she went by this appalling name of Pipi Longstocking. I photographed her for my series Odd Stories, a growing collection of peculiar situations in which shameless and sensual women can live their baroque fantasies. Cute tales on Polaroid. Highbrow in etiquette, refreshingly audacious and aesthetically wicked. And I dare say sensuous.
