“I made a documentary ‘Jongenstehuis’ about a shelter home in Flanders, Belgium for boys from needy, broken or dysfunctional families. I photographed the boys in their daily environment and routine. This picture was taken at the outside area where they wander, play soccer and smoke cigarettes. It captures the beauty and the brokenness of them who are, one by one, intriguing and powerful youngsters living in this artificial place. “
