Naïma El Kadi is an artist photographer, based in Antwerp, Belgium.
This image represents the beginning of my journey about my existence, my home and my identity. Above all it is a search for happiness and answers to my questions. The (old)woman in the picture says goodbye to her birthplace which is completely deserted and where no soul is left. There is nobody left she knows, no one to say goodbye to… With her weak legs she descends from the steep mountain to take an ice cold sip from the water source to recall and revive old memories.
